Note: In this guide, Synthetic Labels refers to general-purpose synthetic label materials commonly used as a more durable alternative to paper. Direct Thermal Paper Labels

Direct thermal paper labels use a heat-sensitive coating and print without a thermal transfer ribbon. They provide a simple and cost-effective solution for high-volume applications where labels only need to remain readable for a relatively short period.

When choosing a label material for long-term outdoor use, PET is often the preferred option where UV resistance, weather resistance, and long-term durability are important.
